Reading Disability vs. Learning Disability—What’s the Difference?
A reading disability is a type of learning disability, but not all learning disabilities affect reading. If your child struggles with sounding out words, reading fluently, or remembering what they’ve read, they may have dyslexia—a common and highly treatable reading difference.
We help families understand dyslexia and how it shows up differently in every student. Teens in particular may compensate with memorization or avoidance, which makes the signs harder to spot.
Dyslexia in Teens & Adults: It's Not Too Late!
Many teens and adults in Boulder live with undiagnosed dyslexia. If reading has always been a challenge—or if it’s affecting school performance, work, or self-esteem—it’s not too late to get support.
We help teens:
- Improve fluency and reading speed
- Build comprehension strategies
- Prepare for ACT/SAT reading sections
- Strengthen spelling and written expression
We also support college students and adults who want to improve functional reading and workplace literacy.
Why Our Reading Approach Works
We use evidence-based strategies that go beyond traditional tutoring. Every student works one-on-one with a trained reading therapist who adapts instruction to their exact learning profile.
